This is my entry for the "EVE: Online Contest".
It's an 614m long Amarr ship.

*To all EVE Fans out there: Please tell me if this ship would fit into the EVE world*

Good industrial. Similar to Sigil, i think. :)

if it wont fit in normal play, they could put it in as an 'easter egg' :D

Really cool alternative for an Amarr equivalent of a Rorqual I think

This does bear a remarkable resemblence to a Sigil. The 'armor plating' also is a bit thick compared to the rest of Amarr ships, i'd tone that down - The Providence is a good benchmark for that kind of proportions.

It looks like something the Amarr would actually build.

Ahh, don't dwell...that doesn't really matter. They had to pick 15 out of over 300, it's remarkable yours is one of the submissions actally looking like something fitting with the universe.

That would fit excellent into the eve world! Though when I see it, I see a ship that would be about 3x the listed size. It has captured the amarr styling absolutely excellent for their transports. The current industrial ships are that size, however there is no role for another small transport.

For that size, I could see it as something for specialized goods such as large volume resource transport. A much larger scale, I can see it as a ferry class ship designed for moving around assembled ships. The latter is something that currently does not exist in any functional means in eve!

Also, any larger and it would have been outside of the max limit for the contest. XD Sorry if you took comments negatively. Any larger and it of course would have been past the maximum limits for the contest ^.^

Looks great, i'd be interested to know your texturing method, how you achieved the outer hull texture?

Thanks ! Well its quite simple: I made a rough 3D shape with a the basic color then I added my ground pattern I made...and repainted it in Painter, because I'm not as good in 3d as in painting :D So all details are painted. Just a rough 3D model...a lot of work - hopefully they like it :D

Well it reminds me heavily of one of the transports, but obviously much larger in size. I would call it as a heavy freighter or maybe even a heavy logistics ship like the carriers.

Not sure why the word 'heavy' showed up that many times...though the ship certainly draws me to the word. :D

Its a hull breaker...AH! ha? Oh no...Man that would suck if you could warp damage other people. That would just kill my Apocalypse by shear momentum. But I do have a sharp bow so maybe I poke a hole in your egg look-a-like ship.

I just smiled as I read his comment: I have no idea what you're talking about :D - I just can imagine what it could be :D I don't play EVE but I guess I try it :D But I like it when people looking at my ships who know what they're talking about ;) Thanks

Looks like a tough nugget, it looks like an Amarr response to the Drake class ship. (the Drake has one of the strongest sheild tanks in the game, period (Amarr are armor tanked)).

I play eve for 4 years now and I can tell you that these ship would fit in the game as some king of hauler class. Its similar to the Amarr Providence or the Sigil in some weird way :)

If you don't play eve you can make a trial account for free. You can then see in market window every ship in game except the faction ones.

But contest almost over now so not much time for it I suppose.

*With a few modifications I can see it as a Battlecruiser

Okay the guns need to stick out more, they currently seem to have restricted firing arcs. However the over all look reminds me of Frank Herbert's Dune No-Ship [link]

Over all I have to say I really like this one it looks heavily armored and could hold a lot of cargo.

Thanks :w00t: well I just wanted to keep the weapons a bit secured that they can fire but aren't any targets for the enemies... Mhm...yes the Dune ship looks indeed a bit similar :D
